Two Holland »¢Ñ¨ÊÓÆµstudents earned national recognition for their outstanding work at the Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) held recently in Regina, Sask.
Emili Bykovski earned silver in Architectural Technology and Design and received a $1,500 RBC Best of Region Award. Matthew Gallant earned bronze in Photography, demonstrating both creativity and technical skill in his work.
Emili and Matthew were part of Team PEI’s 36-member delegation, which included 13 Holland »¢Ñ¨ÊÓÆµstudents competing across various skilled trade and technology events.
“These competitions bring together the best and brightest in skilled trades and technologies,” said Tawna MacLeod, Executive Director of Skills Canada PEI. “We’re extremely proud of team PEI, and especially Emili and Matthew, for demonstrating the talent and skill that our Island can produce.”

Alongside the competitors, 15 college staff and instructors volunteered as National Technical Committee members, contributing significant time throughout the year to design and deliver both provincial and national competitions.
The Skills Canada National Competition is Canada’s only national multi-trade and technology competition for students and apprentices. It comprises over 40 competitions and serves as the qualifier for Canada’s WorldSkills team.
