Simulator (Engine Room) - 2025/2026

Ship Watchkeeping practices using a propulsive plant simulator is designed to provide knowledge of the safe and efficient operation of the ship's machinery to engineers.


Engine Room Simulator Propulsion Plant 1 (PPS1)

This course is designed to provide knowledge of the safe and efficient operation of the ship’s machinery to watchkeeping engineers. Upon successful completion of this course the candidate will receive a training certificate that is required to obtain one of the following Certificates of Competency or Endorsement:

PROPULSION PLANT SIMULATOR, LEVEL 1

Prerequisites: Transport Canada Approved 6 months sea time or an engineering position on board a vessel.

Engine Room Simulator Propulsion Plant 2 (PPS2)

This course is designed to provide knowledge of corrective actions to be taken in problem solving in the recognition of signs and symptoms of a deteriorating function of ships machinery. Upon successful completion of this course an applicant will receive a training certificate that is required to obtain one of the following certificates of competency or endorsement:

PROPULSION PLANT SIMULATOR, LEVEL 2

Prerequisites:  Must hold a min. Certificate of Competency at the 4th Class Engineer STCW level and at least 6 months of seatime onboard a vessel of at least 750 KW.
