Program Manager - Health Studies

Continuing full-time position commencing ASAP

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Executive Director of Programs, Curriculum, and Instructional Development, the Program Manager is the primary administrative and academic officer of the department and is responsible for the delivery of the Paramedicine, Practical Nursing, Dental Assisting, Medical Support Services, OTA/PTA and Resident Care programs in accordance with college policies and procedures. The Program Manager is responsible for providing leadership for all academic and operational activities within the department, including planning, developing, managing, and assessing all activities in their respective programs; managing departmental budgets and resource allocation; leading the processes for the hiring and evaluation of full-time and part-time faculty; fostering the creation of and maintaining strong relationships with advisory boards, industry, labour, education, community groups, and specialized accrediting bodies for the purpose of developing appropriate college programs; and overseeing all activities that contribute to student learning, retention, and success.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor’s degree in a health-related field (such as Nursing, Health Sciences, Public Health, or a related discipline) is required; a master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Current professional designation or registration in a relevant health discipline (if applicable) is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in healthcare, health education, or a related field, including experience in program coordination, supervision, or leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in academic program delivery, curriculum development, or instructional leadership, preferably in a post-secondary or training environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience supervising and evaluating staff, including full-time and part-time faculty or interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, allocate resources, and support operational planning.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders such as healthcare organizations, regulatory bodies, accrediting agencies, and community partners.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and standards in healthcare education and practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to support student success, retention, and inclusive learning environments.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
