Building a More Inclusive Holland College

At Holland College, we believe that every student, staff member, and community partner should feel welcomed, valued, and respected. Creating that kind of environment doesn’t just happen - It’s something we work on together, every day.

That’s why our Culture and Inclusion Advisory Committee is hard at work helping shape a more inclusive and supportive campus experience for everyone. This diverse group brings together voices from across the college to share ideas, address challenges, and celebrate the richness of our community.

We’ve just wrapped up our second committee meeting, and we’re excited to share what’s ahead. Over the coming weeks, there will be opportunities for you to join the conversation, learn new perspectives, and take part in building a stronger, more connected Holland College.

A group of five diverse young adults stand together, smiling and raising their fists in a celebratory gesture, conveying excitement and empowerment. The background features a modern graphic design with a large green curved line and subtle light grey patterns. In the lower section, bold white and orange text on a navy-blue background reads: “SIGN UP TODAY – BE A CHANGEMAKER.” On the left side, the logo “SEE DIFFERENT NOUVEAU REGARD” is displayed, combining blue and orange elements. The overall design promotes positivity, unity, and action.

Upcoming Opportunities to Get Involved

We’re inviting all students, staff, and community members to participate in the See Different training sessions. Although Holland »¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵstudents and staff have priority, this is an open, free course for anyone in Canada between the ages of 15 and 26.

Part 01: Dimensions of Diversity

Friday, September 5, 2025
2:00–4:30 p.m. ET (3:00–5:30 p.m. AT)

Part 02: Stopping the Cycle of Bias, Prejudice, and Discrimination

Friday, September 12, 2025
2:00–4:30 p.m. ET (3:00–5:30 p.m. AT)

Spots are limited, so we encourage you to register early:

By taking part, you’ll gain valuable tools for creating more inclusive spaces—both on campus and beyond. Plus, if you complete both sessions, you’ll receive a certificate of completion. This course also serves as a prerequisite for the upcoming Emerging Leaders of DEI course, so all are encouraged to join.

Let’s keep the conversation going and make Holland »¢Ñ¨ÊÓƵa place where everyone feels they truly belong.
