Job Description

Do you: Have a passion for science, technology, engineering, and/or math (STEM)? Thrive on the energy of elementary school kids and enjoy inspiring young minds? Geek out over equipment like 3D printers and laser cutters? Share your awesomeness with us! Do you also: Play an instrument, love sports, act, sing, dance, draw, sew, or have some magic tricks up your sleeve? We’re always excited to incorporate the "A" in STEAM through the arts!

THE OPPORTUNITY: STEAM PEI is hiring Summer Camp Leaders and Summer Camp Facilitators to develop and deliver summer day camps across PEI.

THE SKILLS: If working with: 6-year-olds and robots, 8-year-olds launching bottle rockets, or 12-year-olds creating stop-motion animations sounds like a dream job, then you’re going to have a BLAST!

Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • Clean criminal record check.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Ability to ensure public health guidelines are followed.
  • Strong skills in managing and engaging groups of up to 20 students. Quick adaptability to dynamic situations.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Familiarity with STEM concepts is ideal.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies to stay on the cutting edge.
  • Experience with block-based coding (e.g., Scratch, MakeCode) and robotics (e.g., Dash/Dot, Sphero, micro:bit, Makey Makey) is an asset.
