In this accelerated Legal Administration program, you will learn all the basic administrative duties and establish a solid foundation in civil litigation, family law, corporate law, real estate law, and estate law. You will also take classes in business communications, professionalism and office finance.

The program focuses on the demands of a modern, fast-paced, law office with emphasis on attention to detail, planning and organizing tasks, and meeting deadlines. You will practice your newly learned skills in a 150-hour on-the-job training placement.

Program Learning Outcomes


Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be able to:

  1. Support the needs of clients and legal professionals by using accurate terminology and professional communication strategies, both orally and in writing.
  2. Prepare standard legal correspondence.
  3. Manage the scheduling, coordination, and organization of administrative tasks and workflow within specific deadlines and according to set priorities and procedures.
  4. Manage legal files and records using a records management system to ensure confidential, secure, accessible, and organized records.
  5. Produce legal documentation for corporate, civil, family, real estate, and estate law, ensuring compliance with legal procedures.
  6. Review and proofread documents and correspondence to ensure compliance with legal procedures and grammatical usage.
  7. Operate and provide support to others relating to the use of standard office equipment and technologies.
  8. Use accounting software to manage accounts and bill clients for services. 9. Identify strategies for ongoing professional development to remain current with industry changes, enhance work performance and explore career opportunities.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent with credits at or above the general level.
  • Résumé including work and volunteer experience.
